The Arkansas State Science and Engineering Fair (ASSEF) is a state competition that encourages students from the six major regions in Arkansas to meet and present their research through oral explanations of their poster presentations. The fields of science presented are extensive and include projects from each of the following fields:

- Behavioral and Social Science
- Biochemistry
- Cellular and Molecular Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Earth and Planetary science
- Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, and Bioengineering
- Energy and transportation
- Environmental Management
- Environmental Science
- Mathematical Science
- Medicine and Health Science
- Microbiology
- Physics and Astronomy
- Plant Science
Winners in those categories at the state competition go on to present their research at the international level!

Arkansas State Science and Engineering Fair 2025 will take place in Conway, AR at the University of Central Arkansas from April 4 – 5, 2025.
The State Fair uses the same project rules, guidelines, and forms as International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
