Arkansas ISEF
Top winners represent Arkansas at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, competing against peers from over 80 countries. Many past participants have gone on to receive college scholarships and pursue advanced STEM degrees. Arkansas students have a history of winning at the International Science Fair. Arkansas has won the top prize three times at ISEF.

Regeneron ISEF 2024: Los Angeles, CA. High School Students from around the world won nearly $9M in awards and scholarships with the $75,000 top award going to 16 year old Grace Sun of Lexington, Kentucky.

Arkansas State Science & Engineering Fair Categories
High school students (grades 9-12) who are winners from regional fairs are invited to exhibit projects on their research in the State Science Fair, which is affiliated with Science and the public. Recognition for excellence is made in seventeen categories:
This category includes all aspects of animals and animal life, animal life cycles, and animal interactions with one another or with their environment.
The study of cognitions (thought processes), emotions, behavior, and/or learning of humans and animals.
Study of chemical basis of processes occurring in living organisms, including processes by which substances enter into, or are formed in, the organisms and react with each other & environment.
This is an interdisciplinary field that studies the structure, function, intracellular pathways, and formation of cells.
Studies exploring the science of the composition, structure, properties, and reactions of matter not involving biochemical systems.
Algorithms, data bases, ai, networking and communications, computational science, graphics, software engineering, programming languages, operating system.
Climatology, weather, geochemistry, mineralogy, paleontology, geophysics, planetary science and/or tectonics.
Electrical and mechanical: electrical, computer, and/or mechanical engineering, controls, robotics, thermodynamics and/or solar.
Materials and bioengineering: bioengineering, civil, construction, chemical and/or industrial engineering, as well as processing and/or material science.
Aerospace and aeronautical engineering, aerodynamics, alternative fuels, fossil fuel energy, vehicle development and/or renewable energies.
Environmental sciences: air pollution and air quality, soil contamination and soil quality and/or water pollution and water quality.
Environmental management: bioremediation, ecosystems management, environmental engineering, land resource management, forestry, recycling and/or waste management.
The study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using numbers and symbols. The deductive study of numbers, geometry, and various abstract constructs, or structures.
Projects that aim to improve human health/ longevity by translating novel discoveries into effective activities/tools for clinical/ public health use.
The study of micro-organisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, prokaryotes, and simple eukaryotes as well as antimicrobial and antibiotic substances.
Physics is the science of matter and energy and of interactions between the two. Astronomy is the study of anything in the universe beyond the Earth.
Structure, physiology, development, classification. cultivation, development, ecology, genetics, breeding, pathology, physiology, systematics and evolution.
